Coercive and controlling relationships
We want to change the way people see and understand emotional abuse.
Would you recognise the signs?
Domestic abuse happens to women, men, straight, lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people. NDAS is here to support anyone affected by any type of domestic violence or abuse.
You might feel like you’re being forced to change the way you think and behave, that you are being taken away from your family and friends or you’re frightened of what they might think.
This is not normal, but it can happen to anyone.
The first step is to recognise the signs.
It may be name-calling, intimidation, blame and accusation, isolation, emotional mind games or threatening behaviour. Perhaps you’re afraid that they check up on you, follow you or check your phone and who you’re talking to.
Emotional abuse is domestic abuse. We can help you.
