Walking the wall for NDAS!
Two well known local Barrasford lasses, Jo Woodford and Colette Eames, along with Jo's school friend Evita Taylor, from Cape Town, walked the entire length of Hadrian’s Wall last week raising funds for Northumberland Domestic Abuse Service.
Diane Schofield from Cumbria also did the 3 days, however had to leave early as her child was taken ill.
They raised a fantastic £649 for Hexham based Northumberland Domestic Abuse Services - heartfelt thanks go to all the donors who contributed so generously. “We walked 85 miles in six days, enjoying British countryside in bright sunshine - we got blisters, sunburn, aching muscles, laughed a lot and shared a healthy, memorable achievement,” said Jo. “We would encourage as many people as possible to walk the Wall, a UNESCO world heritage site. We live in such a picturesque part of the country, so spending a few days in the fresh air, taking in the history and magnitude of the construction and simultaneously helping a good cause - it doesn’t get any better than that”.
