'Control' is a powerful performance that was made in collaboration by NDAS and Raw London, a media production organisation. The short film focuses on young people’s struggles with coercive and controlling relationships and aims to bring emotional abuse into the spotlight. 'Control' has had an amazing impact in the first year since it launched, and has won a number of awards and nominations at youth, media and creative awards.
More recently, the film has featured in awareness raising campaigns and training programmes, and has been widely used as part of Operation Encompass, which is a police and education early intervention strategy to safeguard and support children and young people who are affected by incidents involving domestic abuse.
NDAS are thrilled to hear that 'Control' has been included within training briefings in over 30 Operation Encompass briefing sessions, meaning that the film is being seen across the country, and used as part of an innovative project that is supporting and protecting children and young people.
Operation Encompass have given the film great praise, and coordinators have now incorporated the film into their training presentations. It is fantastic news for us that the film is being used as part of a wider national conversation around the needs and interests of children and young people.
