Fantastic feedback and praise for children & family counselling services!

April 21, 2018

We have received some fantastic feedback for our commissioned children and families practitioner for West Northumberland!

Suzy Le Carpentier is a brilliant counsellor and was commissioned by NDAS to join our team for West Northumberland last year.

Read the feedback and review of Suzy's sessions:

"At the time my daughter first started seeing Suzy she had lost her faith in adults (outside her immediate family). School reported stalled progress and that she had "lost her sparkle". With her kind and cheerful manner, Suzy was able to connect with my child and gain her trust, enabling her gradually to discuss her traumatic event and begin to understand and process her experiences. Months later school now report much improved progress with work and more frequent glimpses of the happy child they previously knew.

I also required help from Suzy to deal with the same events and sought her advice on how to best support and encourage my child to recover. I believe Suzy genuinely cares and she has really gone out of her way to help us both providing text and telephone support in addition to the time spent in sessions.

My daughter adores Suzy and looks forward to her fortnightly session. We have also received good guidance and ideas for managing emotions and behaviours between the sessions. My child tells me that her least favourite part of therapy is the feelings cards which she has found difficult perhaps as it involves tackling painful memories. Her favourite part of therapy has been the wide range of creative activities and she loves to proudly show me a generously provided selection of crafted items after each session.

After what happened, my daughter is left with a greater level of fears and insecurities than she had previously but I feel that working with Suzy has given her the best chance to recover as well as possible and move forward from events. We would both like to thank Suzy for her amazing work"

It is brilliant for us to hear how families and children have experienced the counselling sessions, and that positive progress is being made. We would also like to extend a big thank you to Suzy for her work.
