Transgender Awareness Training

January 17, 2018

This year, Northumberland Pride continues in it's mission to break down barriers, combat stigma and promote inclusion across the county.

To enable us to collectively provide support for transgender people living in our communities, it is vital that we have an understanding of the needs and issues. Only when we have a greater understanding of transgender, what it means, how people experience being transgender differently, will we be able to give adequate and appropriate support.

Sophie Robinson, Vice Chair of Northumberland Pride is providing  training to raise awareness, promote inclusion and together identify ways we can support trans young people across the county of Northumberland. This training will also work towards raising awareness of transgender and people who do not conform to a particular gender, or the gender they were assigned at birth.

The training session will take place on Tuesday 13th February between 1pm - 3pm at Henry's Hut, Ponteland High School Grounds, Ponteland.
