Talking men's health

November 24, 2017

Men's health and wellbeing has been a hot topic in Northumberland this month. To mark Movember and to raise awareness about men's health issues and domestic abuse, our Men & Boys Worker has been touring the county to share information and resources.

Getting people talking about the issues that affect men's physical and mental health is so important - and not always easy. For men, there are often barriers to discussing issues openly, and they may fear judgement or humiliation for speaking out.

For people who identify as LGBTQI+, recognising the signs of domestic abuse, and seeking support, may not be clear or straightforward. NDAS' programme Know More

provides confidential support and information for people of any gender and sexual orientation, and this month NDAS has been spreading the word among local community groups and the general public.

Here are a few pictures of the information stalls in the Swan Leisure Centre in Berwick, and at the Carers Northumberland AGM and networking event held in Morpeth.
